Student Loans
Hi,
When I finished studying in 2008 , I walked away with quiet a considerable student loan debt. The trouble is when I left college for uni around 1999, I belive this was the first time I took out a student loan but not 100% sure.
From this day I don't know how much I have borrowed up to 2007.
What I do know is from 2008 onward up today, I have been paying the SLC quite alot of money from my pay packet every month.
For the first 3-4 years from 2008 i have been paying them circa £200 p/m, from 2012 onward I have been paying on average circa £285-340 a month.
For the first time I managed to log on to the SLC website, i've got approxmatley £7,500 left to pay.
Question is, can I request copies of all loan agreements I have taken out with them from day one, if so how can I go about doing this?
If for whatever reason they can't provide copies of this information what are my rights in paying off the remaining balance.
I pretty much took student loan deductions as another form of tax up to now and I really want to get to the bottom of how much I have borrowed in total.
