Beard Trimmer

As above, I want to buy a Beard trimmer as Xmas gift for my son.
Asked a young (bearded) assistant in Boots today and he said Babylis.
I thought as the guy was young it might make a difference which make to go for (might be o.k. for designer stumble etc).
My son is in his 40's with a full short beard.
Any advice on makes etc would be helpful. Mid range price.

I use hair clippers rather than beard trimmers for stubble and short beard. They come with the clip-on combs for longer beards or can be used freehand with a normal comb like the hairdressers do. Clippers with a normal three-pin plug will outlast rechargeable trimmers too, though might be less easy to use in the bathroom. Wahl are a good brand [argos clicky]
If he needs to trim everything short, the 'baldfader' model trims shorter than anything.0 -
Thanks coffeehouse, really useful information.
I will look at the hair clippers though when I said a "short" beard I didn't mean designer short0
