Right the way I've figured is to offer every one 50% in full and final settlement. If they agree... great.. if not about £2500 leeway with which to negotiate. Enclose a copy of your SOA outlining why you believe your offer is fair and see what happens.

  • I spoke to Freemans and they wouldn't accept less than £1145.00!!!! B*stards. I am now contacting everyone via the CCCS as I've had enough. When I was petitioning for my own bankruptcy I was told conflicting advice every day by different helplines and the same seems to go for final settlements. It's too stressful and my baby is suffering as I am so stressed out all the time. I might just disappear for 6 years and then get the lot written off!!!!!!!!!!!   Sorry, I really have had enough. I thought now I'd got a pot of money things would be easier. Even the insurance I've taken out for my loan is going to be a problem, you pay for cover and then when you want their help you don't get it.

Which is why its never worth taking out PPI or anything similar because it is a total ripoff. I never take out extra insurance as they don't pay out for 3 months by which time you've probably already found another job etc.

Also you must remember that companies do not have to accept full and final settlements.. what I would personally do is wait to see what all the others accept and if low enough pay off all your difficult creditors their full value.

I hate freemans catalogue. Got shot of them years ago.. complete rip off catalogue that is so expensive.

    Good luck!

Ps: any chance you could play the 'missold' redundancy cover route if it won't pay out and threaten court action?
