There are lots of basic meduterranean cook books on Amazon ( just search for "Mediterranean cooking" if you dont need a big name book

Have a look at Tessa Kiros.

Gennaro or caluccio contaldo or Gino D'A Campo for italian books if you want authentic and not Jamies idea of italian.

Rick Stein has a couple of good mediterranean books.

You could just search for mediterranean cook books and get a mixed one which could be nice if you dont want/need/mind a celebrity chefs name on it.

    .
Jammie started work with Antonia Carluccio and cites Genaro Contaldo ( who helps run the Jamies Italian chain ) as a mentor , so his ideas on Italian cooking may be more authentic than you believe

I am fully aware of 'Jamies' background, Thank You.

Just because he worked for "Antonio" and that Gennaro is his mentor doesn't mean that his recipes are his take on italian food. In the same way that he has ben slated by the Spanish for messing about with Paella.

Dont get me wrong, I like Jamie Oliver but I have had better recipes from My Gennaro and Antonio books
