Credit Card deals

Options
Hi all

I have the following amounts on cards:

CC1: £2128
CC2: £2200
CC3: £3538

Total = £7866 :(

I'm not clearing it as much as quickly as I would like too!

I know some are on 0% deals but haven't kept the paperwork - is it easy to just contact the lenders to find out what the deals are? Or is there a way to see it on online statements?

I want to clear this down as much as I can ASAP as I am looking to get a mortgage with my partner in the next 6 months and I doubt I'll be able to with these unsecured debts!

Also - does anybody have any good advice for keeping up with the deals etc? As I've carried these debts for a few years and they've grown rather than shrunk!

    Hi

Thanks for this. Will look into it tomorrow.

For example however, I am reviewing my Barclaycard statements and it's not clear to me where the deal is. Is it likely any deal has expired or is it in there just not in plain sight?

Each of my cards display this information in a slightly different way.

Eg Tesco have a specific line on the front page stating that I am currently on a 0% deal and the date at which it ends whereas Virgin list what my balance breakdown is and the percentage rates which they are being charged at. If there is a 0% transfer then it states the end date. I think this is because CC lenders are required to reduce your balance in order of the highest rates first so they do need to make this sort of information clear.

If you've had them for years and the debt is growing it doesn't sound as if they are on 0% deals, these are only ever for a fixed length of time.

Impulse and unexpected purchases have also played a part!

Flicked through statements and pretty sure I've worked out all of my % now however. Only took until about 2am

Of course if your still spending on these cards, then the debt will go up, obviously.

Are you still spending on them ?

At least two are still on 0%, for now !!

But what happens when those deals run out ?

I'm not still spending on them now. I carry one for absolute emergencies but the others have been cut up.

Ideally I'd like to pay them off before they run out, I don't want to be applying for further credit cards
