Advice required - sale item out of stock but different colour now more expensive

Options
Hi all,

I bought some walking boots which were on sale from the eShop of a retail outfit. There were two colours available at the same price.

After chasing the order twice, I was refunded with a cursory "sorry, out of stock" and when I chased it up, was told to buy the other boots online. However, they're now nearly twice the price, as the promotional price has ended.

Would it be reasonable to ask the retailer to honour the original price on the stock item (same boot, different colour) which was originally the same price as the one I had ordered? I have a vague recollection that there's some regulation somewhere which might cover this, but it's only a hazy memory. Or should I shrug my shoulders and mark it down to experience?

Thanks in advance.

No. You have no right to this, and I have never heard of a retailer in a capitalist economy doing this. It isn't reasonable. The sale has ended, that's the end of the matter.

The sale is finished, there is nothing which covers anyone in this or any similar situation.

    Thanks in advance.
