*Matched betting: There's a board to learn how on this forum. Experienced matched bettors make up to £2000 a month doing that. (Newbies make more like a few hundred) You have to be careful though and take your time to learn, you can make big mistakes.
Speaking as an experienced matched bettor, those days are long gone. Too many people got involved with matched betting after several "consulting" websites sprung up attracting tens of thousands to get involved, and the industry has reacted in the only way it could.
You certainly can make hundreds of pounds per month at the beginning, though. The difficulty will be maintaining this longer term.0 -

You are extremely unlikely (I won't say definily not, as I dont know, but its VERY unlikely) to get a mortgage with 24k in debt.
Your mortgage lender will not go 'oh you have 10k deposit, brilliant' they will see you as having 14k in debts no matter how it is spread out.
Unless your income is HUGE, that 10k will not help you with a mortgage when you have 240% of that in debts.0 -

How to make big money?
Well, back in the day, they used to say the only way to get a small fortune under a Labour Government was to start with a large one. I have a feeling that if Corbyn ever gets in, those days may return."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

If you're going to keep the 10,000 savngs, why is it not in a cash ISA? Or a fixed term ISA? You've got more chance of a return on your money there. Or a 4-6% savings account?
Speaking as someone who has some premium bonds just in case they should win, I have to point out, in 4 years, they've won me £25.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Yes, but how many do you have? My mum holds the maximum allowed and regularly wins three or four times a month, not always £25 either. It still equates to a miserable return, but a bit better than a bank deposit and there's always the chance of the big win.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
I have a fair chunk....I could have earned quite a few hundred if it had been in an ISA or a savings aco!!!!.
My parents had the maximum in two accounts, they used to get maybe 50 quid every two or three months....Still not as good as ISAs or savings accounts.
There's very little chance of a big win, but better than the lottery I expect since you don't lose any money.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
