I am looking at installing a toilet under the stairs in our house.

Can anyone recommend someone who could supply and fit this, or
or just fit the stuff after I buy the materials?

So far I have contacted Beggs and Partners, but want to contact as many good options as possible for variety.

Cheers

    Bath shack
    Soaks
    Victoria Plumb

Bathstore are good. They don't deliver here so you have to arrange delivery. I used shiply for a mirror I couldn't get anywhere else.

Load of them about. I used soaks for a new ensuite a while ago. They have a list of fitters they work with and can recommend a few to you. I'm sure bath shack are the same. Hope you're not in a rush BTW, took us 3-4 months to get a date for the install.

I have given Soaks a call, they have recommended a fitter, who I am going to try and get to come out to the house to check out the area and quote etc.

They said it would be after February! We are not in a mad rush, so no worries there.

I now have one of their fitters coming to the house tomorrow to take a look, this has been an efficient start!

Great news. I couldn't say a bad word about them. I fitted all hansgrohe and I'm more than happy.

I arranged the fit out and sourced the fittings for my WC. It was cheaper, but so much hassle getting the plumber, tiler and spark to be there at the right time. Just not worth the hassle for such a small job.
  • Bear in mind that you are required to make a Building Control application to install a toilet under the stairs (however it's only likely to be an issue if you plan to sell the house).

Is it not one of those things that can be done after the job is done?

    Of course.

A lot of people aren't aware that it requires approval (I only discovered it when I was looking to see what approvals I needed for work I'm completing).

Thankfully my mother has no plans to sell her house (whoops ).

Just be aware you need extraction to an outside wall.

Yes, but you will pay more for a retrospective application and you may have to open up completed work for inspection.
