Urgent Help: 3 year old POS Fraud
Hi,
3 years ago I had a point of sale loan taken out in my name with Barclays Partner Finance after having my wallet stolen. No goods or services have ever been received in relation to this agreement.
This was reported to both the police who advised to log this on the action fraud site and a reference number was issued. Barclays Partner Finance have been repeatedly contacted , provided with crime reference numbers yet this still remains sat on my credit file as a now defaulted account.
I have run out of ideas to try and resolve this, Barclays Partner Finance will not connect me to the fraud department and I have since contacted a solicitor who has reviewed the agreement and confirmed there is information missing that Barclays require to make this binding - mainly from the store who processed the original transaction.
This has just cost myself and my wife the purchase of a house.
All other credit accounts are either paid in full monthly, this is the only negative issue in my credit report and we are struggling to gain approval for any type of mortgage.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have been the FOS who have agreed Barclays handled the complaint reasonably, despite this remaining unresolved.
