problem with Chrome

I've had a problem with screen freezing occasionally for the last few weeks.
Waiting for it to unfreeze doesn't work so I have to turn my desktop off completely, which with Windows 10 means signing in again before I can get back to what I was doing.0 -
Glad it's not just me! Mine has been locking up for the past few days and has been driving me mad!
I'm on version 55.0.2883.75 which was updated on 2/12/16
I've switched onto a beta version 57.0.2939.0 which is currently working a lot better, so hopefully it will sort itself out when google move onto to the next version.
Another way of seeing what version you are on is to type chrome://version/ into the address bar0 -

Thanks - I had an update today and can see I am on 55.0.2883.75. Do you know how we can update to your version as you are obviously on the latest?:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I had forgotten, there are two test versions.
The beta version is at:
https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/beta.html
which is described as "Try out Google Chrome Beta - Google Chrome Beta lets you play with the newest Chrome features."
I can't see what version number this is.
Then there is
https://www.google.co.uk/chrome/browser/canary.html
which is described as "Google Chrome Canary has the newest of the new Chrome features. Be forewarned: it's designed for developers and early adopters, and can sometimes break down completely." and "Not for the faint-hearted. Canary is designed for developers and early adopters, and can be prone to breakage."
This is the other version I have - ie 57.xxx
This runs side by side as a separate version of Chrome alongside the main version. I think the beta version above overwrites the main version.
If you decide to go for the canary version you can export bookmarks from your main version and import them into the canary version.0 -
Mine updated today and it messed up loads of my bookmarks - bringing back old ones I'd deleted weeks ago.2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400

Mine updated to the latest yesterday, and fingers crossed no problems yet.0
