Sick note

Hi
I would appreciate some advice regarding a sick note. A bit of back story is that I am suffering from a dental abscess, never had it before and I have no idea what to do. I saw my doctor who gave me antibiotics and advised that it could be sinusitis or a dental abscess.
I saw my dentist who made it worse as he injected straight into the abscess. So the abscess flared up and my plans to return to work after 2 days were obviously ruined.
My question is that I have been off sick for 5-7 days so i have been self certifying. I have requested a sick note from my dentist and they said they do not write them at all. I have requested one from my doctor and explained the dentists do not write them. The receptionist at the surgery has told me it has been sent/done but the doctor has not had time to write it. She asked me when I need the sick note and I said from now.
My problem is no one is refusing a sick note neither the doctor or dentist and my employers are asking for a sick note. There is no question about the validity for my request which my doctor and dentist has confirmed. My concern is that I might be in breach of my contract by not providing a sick note either today or tomorrow.
Any help, advice will be greatly appreciated

If it were me, I'd ask the Dentist very nicely to write a note on letterheaded paper advising of your condition, and that they're unable to provide a valid sick note having referred you to your doctor.
If the receptionist is saying they're waiting for the doctor to sign it, ask again for a letterheaded note that the sick note is pending sign-off and delayed due to workload.
If neither will co-operate, do what you can to keep your boss informed every time there's a development, and reassure them that the note (when it is produced) will cover the entire period of sickness.
I've had an abscess on the hinge of my jaw, with my wisdom teeth chomping it every time I open OR closed my mouth... they tried injecting it, filing down the wisdom teeth, but in the end it was removing 1 wisdom tooth and antibiotics that sorted it. I couldn't work with the pain either.Started 07/15. Car finance £6951 , Mortgage: 261k - Savings: £0! Home improvements are expensive0 -
I don't understand how the receptionist can say it's been sent but it has been written yet?
Can you make an appt with doc and get it?1 -

I'm assuming the receptionist meant the request had been passed to the GP but it hasn't yet been done.
If it's anything like our surgery, you can't get in for weeks unless it's classed as an emergency/urgent problem. I don't thing a medical certificate will fall into that category when the surgery has already said they will provide it.0 -
Thank you for your advice guys. The doctor will not see me as I have a dental abscess that has been confirmed by my dentist. As I have been seen by the dentist already my doctor will not see me. I understand the politics around the whole doctor, dentist issue and that dentists can only treat dental problems etc... however I will wait and see what happens. The receptionist at the surgery did mention that my sick note will be backdated for today, so I guess I can take that literally.0
