Has anyone used the Majestic Wine Calais free channel crossing deal? Any glitches or restrictions that you would care to share, and are the saving any good? I'm thinking of making a run in a couple of weeks.

i would highly recommend Majestic Calais, we use the free Eurotunnel offer a couple of times each year.

You can taste in the UK stores, pre-order on line, with Topcashback discount and save £££s on the wine and £60+ on the crossing

Give them a few week's notice, avoid school hols and you get the pick of the times

Team there are very helpful and order is picked ready for your collection ...and you change it before you pay

They are open sundays too - which is rare for France

No hesitation in recommending

Weigh up the cost against the savings you will make coming from north of England.

also factor in arriving with an empty fuel tank as diesel is 95p per litre if you shop around in Calais

Thanks DCFC. The point about the long drive from the north is a decent one, though with my little car I don't think it will add that much. More a matter of time. Even better to combine it with a visit to my eldest who lives just off the m11 so I can kill 2 birds. Probably pop into Carrefour or Leclerc to see what bargains they have too.

Yes if you can combine it with that then you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I've just come back from doing a wine run to Calais, went to Pidou warehouse which is actually cheaper then Majestic, does a cross channel offer, also offers you the option to pay in cash in £££, which offered me £1.20 to the Euro, which at the time (last week) was better then the offered visa exchange rate of 1.14.
My fav wine is £8.80 over here, £2.75 in Pidou.

They have a website, it's just a thought for you.

We use Calais Wine Superstore.

We have a trip planned next week. Tunnel with lunch at a local bistro courtesy of Calais Wine and cashback through Topcashback paying for most of fuel.
