Currys PC World Mail Order Support

I made the mistake of ordering something from Currys PC World during the "Black Friday" deals. All seemed well when I received an e-mail notification that it was processing the order. Bearing in mind that I assumed they'd be busy, and the acknowledgement said five working days delivery, I thought Curry's PC World were ahead when i got a notification that the item had been shipped via Royal Mail Tracked. Currys PC World had taken the money on the day of the order, Black Friday.
Terrific, I thought, all's going well.
Now this is where is seems to go wrong.
The tracking info says it reached Swindon, and it sat there for five days, with no change in the tracking info. The Royal Mail info says I should contact the sender if I want more detail on the delivery.
After six days I decided to call Currys PC World to find out what's going on, and why the shipment has stalled.
The first time I called the help line (press one for this and two for that, etc.) it connected me to an automated phone message, which said i should go to the website to check, and then cut me off. Grrrr.
Not giving up, I phoned again, this time pressing different options with the aim of actually speaking to someone.
After ten minutes of, "we're experiencing heavy call load..." to finally get a human, who told me i've come through to the wrong department, and they would connect me to the front of the queue.
Click, and the sound of an automated message, once again, "we're experiencing heavy call load..." but I was not deterred.
50-minites later i got through to someone that agreed there was something wrong with the delivery, but now, it was gone past the time they can call Swindon delivery office and they are now closed.
I was told that they would do something on their system, and i should wait up to ten days for resolution. What! Yes, that's right, ten days.
Hmmm, call ended, not impressed.
Two days later I thought i'd check the Royal Mail tracking and noticed that the tracking code had completely gone, and there was now no such item. I was suspicious.
I decided to call Currys PC World ( I must be crazy).
Guess what, "we're experiencing heavy call load..."
Finally, after half an hour I spoke to someone that told me you're lucky, i'm sitting next to my manager and i'll check with him what we can do.
After a further few minutes of holding on, i was told that the manager had said "the product will be delivered to me on Monday."
Was this just to get me off the line? I thought it was as I could not find out from them how the manager was able to give me the info.
Guess what, here we are, on Monday, and no product.
As it happens, I checked the Royal Mail tracking information today and the tracking code has reappeared, and the product has finally moved from Swindon, and it's now recorded as having gone to Yorkshire. Now, that would be good news if i lived in Yorkshire, but i don't. Swindon is a major hub and considerably nearer.
I have lost the will to spend another half hour or so phoning Currys PC World phone lines, so i tried twitter.
It looks to me as if they are overwhelmed and seem to be responding to exasperated customer tweets from three or four days ago.
Something's up with this delivery, and Currys PC World's system is woefully inadequate.
Either way, i'll have to wait.
Not impressed, and I won't ever be buying from Currys PC World mail order again, whatever happens with this delivery.
There, I feel better now i've vented.
