Remortgage

Hi folks ,
Just looking for some advice. My wife and I married in April. We have no financial ties/joint accounts etc. She has owned her home with mortgage for approx 12 years. I however have a 0 out of 700 credit rating owing to a bankruptcy years ago plus a couple of things hanging round that I can't seem to clear. Anyway I digress. I started working for myself almost a year ago but have no accounts for this. So basically wouldn't want to be taken into account on any mortgage application. We are however looking to remortgage to get some work done on the house as she hasn't had anything done since she bought it. She is concerned over her credit score and unfortunately owing to 3 miscarriages in the last 18 months she has missed 2 mortgage payments. I just wondered if anyone had any advice regarding our remortgage options? She owes approx 45000 with house value approx 90000. And we would be looking for an extra 10-15000 on the mortgage. Another thing that is complicating it is that her original mortgage company doesn't exist anymore , as such it is managed/ owned by another company that only looks after it's assets and doesn't take on new business. So we can't even ask for the extra ri go on the existing mortgage. Please help arrrrrrghh
