Unhappy at Work bu Pregnant

Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice on my work situation. I am very unhappy at my job and to cut a long story short, I am a very ambitious and self-motivated person... usually... but my company lacks leadership and every project I try to move forward with ends at a dead end. Furthermore, the company morale is very low and the negativity of everyone is killing me. I've been at the company 3 years (with a 4 month break last year...) and I know that I have no future here and I am wasting my potential. No-one notices if I do everything or nothing..
It's time for me to leave however I am pregnant and so I don't want to put the pressure on me of finding another job, proving myself to a new employee and then then having to come back to work as soon as possible after having the baby. My company is quite family friendly so I can work part-time if I want when I come back. But for now I just don’t know how to get through the next 6 months… I am miserable… I started a Masters to try and gain new skills, I’m trying to do more out of work (gym, learning a language) etc. but ultimately I have 8 hours a day sitting in the office. My husband is super positive and excited about his job (the first 5 years of our careers were identical but then his career went up, while mine went down) and I want to support him in doing his best at his work which has lots of opportunity, but instead I end up just bringing us down.
I’ve never posted on a forum before because I can normally find some sort of solution, but this time I just can’t.. Advice?

May be worth just checking out if you have ante natal depression? That can be a little known effect of pregnancy. (Especially if you are usually more positive).:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Thanks whitewing. I have quite a history of depression so it could be something I need to think about again. Although my work problems have been going on longer than the pregnancy just now I feel more stuck..0

Honestly? I'd just wait it out until you go on Maternity Leave.
That way you get some breathing space, paid maternity leave with no pressure to return to work or find a job, and time that you need to find an alternative job.
Just keep your eyes on the prize for the next 6 months, and then you can decide what to do once its time to return to work after the baby is born.0 -
If I were you I would be grateful to have a full time job at the moment.
If you feel unhappy about your job situation once the baby has come along, then I think that might be the right time to re access your place of work.
I hope you have a health pregnancy.0 -
Do bear in mind that if you change jobs now you almost certainly won't qualify for Statutory Maternity Pay from a new employer either.0

I totally agree with the others who say you should wait it out. You don't want to risk your statutory maternity pay by leaving now. You can make a more informed decision whether you want to continue with this job after you have given birth.0
