The more information you have in a business environment the better placed you are to negotiate and make a decision. As they say knowledge is power, and having a knowledge of the salary structure is very useful.
Discussing salaries is essential to determining whether there are any prospects with said employer, if you find out they are paying everyone mediocre wages for example then you know there's no possibility of salary progression and should be therefore putting time and effort into finding another employer sooner rather than later if you are trying to progress.0 -
It's not 'la vie' because there are things he can do about it. He can ask for more money. He can ask what he needs to do in order to get more money, if he can't get it just by asking. And he does have an extra exam, which I'm assuming he wouldn't have bothered mentioning if he didn't think it should make a difference.No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
