OS Daily Sunday 04 December

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

    Morning everyone

Long drive back to Glasgow yesterday after a surprisingly tasty pub lunch. I'll be heading home later this morning.

    Happy Sunday.

    Morning All

Thanks for both threads, it's always a big decision knowing which one to post on!

Glad you had a good weekend Gers, you should have a good run back home, the weather is to be quite good.
Good news on the mortgage front HH, that is a hefty saving each month.

Went in search of a new kitchen table and chairs yesterday with DD, the only table I liked was far too big so I'll stick with the one I have for now. No TV unit either, something will turn up.

Took DD the smaller TV for her bedroom but forgot the remote! I'll take it up later when she finishes work, along with the ladder so she can get her christmas decs down from the loft.

Not much else happening today, may go visit friends at the top of the Loch if they are in. Take care. XX

Good morning lovely old stylers how are you all?

Its been a long time since I stopped by but so lovely to see so many familiar names still upholding the tradition.

I am still pretty old style in most things although there is of course always room for improvement.
This weekend I would get some OS brownie points for making my own chilli jam and onion chutney which has left the kitchen looking like a bombs hit it of course so thats todays job.

Tru its lovely to see your Chrismas post again

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday
  • :sad:Two threads. Decisions decisions. I've plumped for the Christmas carol:D

Lovely anniversary meal yesterday. Although last minute train cancellations meant driving into Glasgow and expensive parking.

I hd, fish soup, and then scallops and monkfish with soy and spring onion en papillotte. YUM.

Woken up this morning with a sore throat and feeling yucky. Im supposed to be singing in the carol concert tonight. I think that may not happen. Im about to leave for church and see how I get on.

I haven't got TIME to be ill :(

    Have a great day everyone.

Chaos squared here with four of the dgc here. The five year old woke up with earache at 11, hence quick dash to her house to get calpol. She didn't get back to sleep until 3:15. The others slept through until 8am. I shall take them home at midday.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Nice bright day here I have the beds stripped and in the wash will get them on the line when they are done.

Still full of grot really fed up with it now :( just wish it would go, back to work tomorrow and I feel no better at all.

DD wants to go for a drive later on so will nip to Mr T and get a few bits and bobs other than that and changing the bedding I will not be doing a lot.

    Have good days everyone xx
  • Afternoon everyone, I am just making myself some soup for lunch with a potato, a bit of leftover onion, leftover parsley stalks and broccoli stalk. I'll do a Sunday dinner for everyone later, roast pork etc. I've made the stuffing.

Finished another baby jumper this morning and now making some fingerless gloves for a friend, yet he last pair, from a few years back, look as though her dog has chewed them, which probably he has.

House is clean ish. OH mended the door handle yesterday, in the interim , I used a few hair tying up things to stop it closing, never thought of a sock but I will remember that if it happens again thank you JackieO.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

I think I've caught Redruby's cold! *cough cough, splutter splutter, snuffle*
Not good timing, as it's Mr LW's birthday tomorrow, and we're supposed to be lunching out!

So - hot lemon and honey, methinks; Redruby, FBO care to join me? :o I have a bowl of fresh lemons from the market in the fridge, and local honey from the farmers market, so it'll be delicious.:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Mr LW is currently outside running the lawnmower over the grass - not so much to cut it as to hoover up the leaves.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
