Hey guys
I have mortgage application going through with natwest. Our valuation was successful. my broker sent my pay slips and the underwriters were happy to borrow but he forgot to send out I.d. This was las document they needed before they were going to send out the offer. However I am a uk citizen from birth and my wife is canadiana and we have 2 children together.
She is here on a spouse visa and does not have Indefinate leave to remain but she has been here 4.5 years and we will need to expend it again in the next 3 months.
She does not work so she is just on the mortgage with no income. All the income comes from me.
I'm just thinking would this be a problem? Also if it is would natwest be able to just do the mortgage on my name? We do claim child benefit and tax credit which is on both our names but they go into my account. The broker advised that we should both be on the mortgage but he didn't ask us any questions.
The fact that everything is done with natwest and they are just clarifying her I'd is so frustrating as we are so close. Hopefully we will find out next week but any advice would be great.

With regards to the benefit you receive; I'm almost 100% sure whoevers name(s) are on the award letter need to be on the mortgage for the income to be calculated for affordability.0

Thanks for your reply. Even without the benefits I would meet affordability as we are only borrowing 92k. I'm just so anxious to see what they do as this is the last going they need to sort out before sending the offer because they have agreed to lend the money0
