Cromecast or Amazon Firestick

My girlfriend, living in Armagh, cannot receive Southern stations via her aerial but she can pick it up on the RTE International Player on her iPad.

I'm wondering what would be the best way to cast it from her iPad to her Sony television. The two options I can think of is the Chromecast or th Amazon Firestick. Anyone know if any of these have a built in RTE app. If you buy South of the border will you be able to get the normal RTE service rather than the international version

Is there a better way to get RTE via her fibre connection

Chromecast is the cheaper option at the moment - available for £20 - worth buying online to give it a try - see if it does the job and if not then send it back for a refund

Firestick / Android box all day long, can stick Kodi on it, all the tv shows and movies you could ever want...

I'm not sure how well RTEplayer works with Chromecast - you have to actually mirror your phone or computer screen rather than casting just the content being streamed, if you know what I mean. It's quite jumpy as a consequence.

I bought a HD freeview box - which has RTE. Works a treat!

Hard to cast from ipad to chrome- need Apple tv box. Besides that Firestick all day long (although ive got both but they are so cheap).
