Redeployment advice

Hi all, I'm new to the site and need some advice.
I hurt my back at work NHS and had to go off sick. I wasn't supported by my employer so I put a claim in with a solicitor and when I returned by workload was increased causing another injury to another part of my body so was forced to go off sick again. I have been off for nearly a year and was told redeployment would be better for me. I finally agreed but since then have been ignored by manager and HR. They haven't replied to any of my emails and 2 jobs I applied for on the restricted list of which I fitted most of criteria have lead to nothing either. No reply and no interview. I'm assuming it is because of my accident claim. I really don't know what to do as I have no income now and don't want to walk away from my pension. Has anyone suffered similar or have any advice. This experience has taken all my confidence away and confronting them isn't an option.

As you work in the NHS it seems likely that you are a union member, so speaking to them would be your first option.
Who is it that has suggested redeployment? If it's your GP then I doubt if your employer is required to take any notice of them. If it's your employer (I'd assume you have access to Occupational Health services within the NHS) then it may be that they do have to take that suggestion into account. Perhaps you need to start using the grievance process.0 -
I'm not in the union unfortunately and it was my employer and HR that suggested the redeployment. They were very keen to get me to accept it but now I have they have stopped communication. I've searched online everywhere and can't find details of how to complain. I have self referred to occupational health as they were very supportive of me and have not been informed of my redeployment. I have an appointment today, I'm hoping they can advise m.0

Even though you hurt your back at work your injury (and any possible compensation) are separate from your employment rights.0

It doesn't feel that way. People tell me my employer can't do what it's doing but how do you stop them. They make you weak until you don't know what to do!0

Are you actually fit for work?
And if so and you haven't been redeployed elsewhere, presumably you should be reporting to your old post as scheduled0 -
So are you actually receiving the redeployment list? There is a general misunderstanding from many employees that it is then the responsibility of management/HR to find you an alternative role - it is for you to do all the chasing. If you have applied and not heard anything - then pick up the phone and ask! It might be that the role has been pulled or that there has been a problem with contacting you. We use NHS jobs so email applicants - have you checked your junk email? Don't just wait with no information - ask.
Otherwise don't be surprised if eventually you are involved in a capability process.0
