Hi,
Some time ago I've bought a game at CeX. I've tried it, but the disc was scratched and didn't work fully. I went back to the shop and asked for a refund. There was no problem, they've accepted it and promised to refund me back on my debit card. I've got a refund receipt from them. Now, it's two weeks later and still I haven't received any money on my account.
The refund receipt is just CeX's refund confirmation - it doesn't contain any debit card transaction details so, I'm unable to clarify with my bank. It just contains CeX's internal reference number.
I've wrote to them several times and the guy is responding that they are checking that with their payment team. The responses are very sparse and usually delayed by at least a day. On Tuesday he come back to me saying that he needs 24h more. It's two days later and another email with enquiry about the progress from me and no clarification from their side whatsoever.
I'm not sure how to proceed now? Can I report it somewhere? The amount wasn't big, it was literally £20 but I don't see a reason why I should let it go.

Well you either wait or sue them. that's basically your legal options.
(pay on credit card and you can do a chargeback)0 -
That is ridiculous! I'll try to claim chargeback on my debit card.0

I had exactly the same experience when I bought something from Cex: it was defective; they promised to arrange a refund but it did not happen; so I contacted the card provider and got the money back very quickly.
All in all, buying from Cex is a very bad idea.0 -
