Christmas Hotel Deal for Lunch

Options
Hi

This year for Christmas Day, my dad wants to take the family to a hotel for a couple of days. I have tried to talk him out of it by offering to cook but he is adamant. So in return for saying yes and him insisting on paying for everyone, I thought maybe I could try and negotiate with the hotel....but before I even try, just wondered...

They have specific Christmas deals on their website but when I've called them anonymously to check availability they've pretty much laughed down the phone at just how much availability there is and that they don't anticipate a big rush of people.

So....do you think that it's worth a shot to try and get 3 rooms and 2 nights stay with all the things they have discounted or does anyone who's gone down the hotel for xmas route in the past found they stick to their deals that they advertise ?

I just wondered what tack to go in with. It's such a lot of money but my dad's not budging but I just feel bad him insisting on getting the whole balance (he wont budge on paying either :().

It's something like £266 per person for DBB for 2 nights, a bottle of Prosecco and chocolates per room, spa access, Christmas day lunch and a live band in the evening. So the value is good (I think??) but I can't tell.
