Reclaiming tax paid on interest (R185)

in Cutting tax
Earlier this year I had a complaint upheld against Sun Life Financial of Canada regarding a mis-sold investment. As a result they repaid me my original payments, plus interest. I received an R185 'Certificate of deduction of income tax' from them showing the interest and deducting 20% income tax.
My income this year (including the interest payment) falls below the threshold for Income Tax Allowance. Do I claim this back through my Self Assessment Tax Return or do I have to claim it back another way?
Regards,
Jason.

It seems to me that you can enter the details (make sure that it is in the appropriate boxes according to the nature of the payment detailed on R185) in your self assessment return.

Any repayment will then be made as you specify on your SA return.0
