Hi All,
I'm running out of excuses to give to my CC companies that keep ringing me.
What is the best action to take? How can I delay them until my BR hearing?
What the best excuse?
Thanks

Don't answer the phone to them or ask that all correspondance is kept in writing. That should give you some extra time.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

What about all the junk mail?
I was considering replying with a fabricated story etc etc etc and everything will be back to normal in 2 weeks (i.e the begining of the month) + send it second class mail, so it takes longer.
One annoying thing is that one of the companies calls my work mobile

stubie, you can send your creditors the letter given in post #6 in this thread. That will stop most if not all of the phone calls. If any of the creditors ask you about your debts, just say/write back that you're having money problems at the moment & intend to sort it out asap. If you're going BR in a month or two, then the letter will do most of the work for you, & the time will soon pass (honestly it will, though it might not seem like that at the moment
) - if it's going to be 3 months or more until you go BR, it's probably worth offering them the token payment of £1 per month. Don't bother telling them you're going BR - they usually won't believe you, & many people have found that telling them that actually increases the pressure they put on you to pay up. Leave your work mobile on your message service, then you can just delete any messages you don't want to respond to. Once they've got your letter, they shouldn't be calling you on that anyway.
As for the junk mail, either just throw it away or do what I do - post it back to them or to another company using one of their pre-paid envelopes. Gives me a little bit of fun on miserable days - I've just sent a Tampax sample to American Express, & an estate agent that was touting for business got a leaflet on training schemes for the unemployed.

Stubie, we were noughty and said we were looking at our situation with the CAB and we were waiting for our second interview so we could have a structured plan inplace for finances and we would contact them asap. They understood this to mean a repayment plan ,we ment a BR plan:p But creditors were less of a problem
After BR because it takes OR a little time to notify everyone we still got calls but BR no.and OR address and a reminder that should they continue to call it would be arassment was all we had to do.Hope this helps. Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j0 -
check your work mobile phone and the instruction booklet, my phone has a gadget thing so you can block a specific number from phoning or texting you0

So not too long to wait then; I don't think they can do much in the meantime.BCSC Member 70:j
