Why DH's citi card's interest for the last bill was £16.25.. but this estimated interest on the next bill is £10.23?? Even though we've only paid £14 off it???

Either way it's getting paid off soon anyway. Bloody citi..

  • Could that include a balance transfer fee? I have no other ideas, cc companies are a law unto themselves!

  • No idea - sorry. I am so pleased that I will be able to clear off my Morgan Stanley card, I hate dealing with cc call centres and the confussion that you get from them in general.

I hope it gets paid off soon and then you will never have to worry about it ever again -YAY!!

It's not to do with there only being 30 days in September is it?

My mortgage interest varies if the month is shorter. (I LOVE february lots paid off the capital).

Other than that I have no suggestions!
  • is it because they calculate interest daily? I know Capital One did and they seemed to make the figures up as they went along.

Tell me about it - I'm in the middle of shuffling my CC balances to get on better interest rates. This month I cleared my Capital One card but I've been charged £66 interest which is the same amount I paid when I had a balance of £4k and only paid just over the minimum payment

Even better, the new statement says my estimated interest next month will be £0.00 if they get the minimum payment before 15th Oct. I bet it won't - the minimum payment's only £5.

Not that I'll ever know cos I intend to pay off the £66 asap :p
