Is there any point in appealing?

The RK of a vehicle has just had a letter from Athena ANPR Ltd for staying in a certain carpark of Lidl for over the time limit, that being 10 minutes. I just don't get how you are expected to do a shop in that time? No receipt was kept as it was only a few quid.

These idiots are in the IPC so no real appeals, is it worth the effort, I have made complaints to Lidl directly about this.

Thanks

  • Send off the template letter just to engage them. Modify it to refer to the mandatory grace periods which are given in the IPC COP.

They'll reject it, obviously, but at least it keeps them engaged.

    Then ignore.
  • Grab the manager of the store and complain very very loudly.

If you have bank statements showing a history of shopping at the store it would be good to show how much business they are about to lose.

Complain to Lidl, who help the scam along by not employing enough till staff, and mention that they have lost a customer who will be telling their friends & family to avoid the store in future.

Also put a cheeky request into the local council to see if Athena has planning permission for the cameras if not attached to the building and advertising consent for the signage

A Lidl Head Office or CEO complaint should get it cancelled pretty quickly. Shame on Lidl.

Thanks, I have sent them your template for IPC rip off merchants. I have also contacted Lidl through the resolver thing through Martin Lewis, they have been utterly useless I must say, all they keep on saying that have to have parking management companies to enable customers to park. I told them the driver was a customer and to allow 10 minutes to shop is ridiculous

Yes but you need to address the complain to their CEO by name, by email, as is shown in loads of threads.
