Is swagbucks a con?

I signed up to this site a couple of months ago, and in all this time, there has been 1 survey that I actually qualified for, I have answered loads of questions only to be told I am not eligible and not even given any credit for my time.

Then when I actually signed up to something through the site and got enough points to get a £10 amazon voucher, it says "this reward is not available", same for paypal and other retailers

Are swagbucks just ripping people off here?

By contrast, all the Yougov surveys I am sent are qualified for and me and my partner get a couple of hundred a year through that site for relatively short easy surveys. So it's not a case that I'm in some weird sort of demographic.

  • Don't know about a con, but it seems like an awful lot of effort, for not much reward.
  • Did you email their customer service team about redeeming the vouchers? I find they are normally quite helpful in resolving these sorts of things. As for the surveys I only do swagbuck surveys when they are decent paying - which is unusual - other survey sites pay much better than them in my opinion. You can still hit your daily goal though by running apps, watch/ncrave and playing games.
  • No, it's not a con. It's a legit site.

Some surveys are annoying - they let you go through loads of questions then say you don't qualify, but Swagbucks don't make the surveys other companies do. So if you notice it's surveys by a specific company that keeps doing that report it to Swagbucks.

Some surveys you just won't qualify for, it depends on who they are looking for. If you're going too fast through a survey it may also disqualify you so don't rush through any.

As above, there are other ways to get points.

Not sure why it wouldn't let you redeem a voucher. Might be a glitch or technical issue. Best idea is to contact Swagbucks about it.

It isn't surely considering everyone earns loads from it. Make sure your survey profile is up to date and read the thread about it so you can earn through all available ways. Vouchers are not going out of stock usually but if there is a high demand, it might be, temporarily.

No, it's not a con. See my signature - been signed up for over 4 years.

However some sites don't work for everyone. I found Clixsense to be a total waste of my time, every survey I was DQ'd from and it paid a pittance for PTC stuff. Others made a fortune on it, mostly from doing tasks I believe. It could possibly be your demographics. But there are other ways to earn on SB, other than surveys.

  • I've used the site for almost 2 years now & have never had problems. Ok some surveys I get screened out, but that's expected anyway. I have probably been screened out on about 25% of the surveys I attempt. As for redeeming vouchers, I know sometimes they run out of stock of certain vouchers but again I've never encountered this issue. I've earned over £150 vouchers from them over the 2 years but I know some people spend loads of time on the site & have earned a lot more than that.

Yeah I have emailed them but have received no response, I won't be bothering with this site in the future I don't think.

Have you tried again to order a reward? Could have been a glitch before.

It's worth contacting them on social media. You should get a response on Facebook.

Not a con. I joined at the beginning of September and in 3 months I have earned £175 amazon vouchers. Real vouchers that I have redeemed and the money is now sat in my Amazon account.

There are other ways to earn. I have done hardly any surveys.
  • I have finally managed to redeem the voucher, however they are sending a postcode because their system would not accept 2 separate, valid, telephone numbers for verification. *sigh*
