What about the south west? Houses aren't as cheap as the north but are much cheaper than the south east. Bristol, Exeter and possibly even Plymouth have low rates of unemployment and plenty of opportunities. The standard of living is good particularly in Devon.
Most of my family have moved to Devon and are doing very well.0 -
