What a treat! Was £45, now £27, just in time for the festive period :)

http://www.loveknitting.com/paintbox-yarns-advent-calendar

Comes with 24 mini balls of DK yarn and 4 free festive patterns :D

Official MoneySavingExpert insert Tue 6 Dec: The Paintbox yarn advent calendar has been reduced from £45 to £27 delivered (delivery is free on purchases over £25) but you can also get an additional 15% off code by signing up to the newsletter, meaning it costs £22.95 (you’d have to spend a bit extra to get free delivery, eg, this £2.45 Plymouth ruffle yarn, reduced from £8.30).

As the calendar doesn’t go out of date, if it’s something you’re looking for it could be worth getting one to keep for next year, however, with each of the 24 windows only having a 10g ball of yarn, the total yarn value is only around £6ish. If you were after the popular sold-out £55 Opal sock yarn advent calendar, the contents for that are worth £28ish so you’d not be spending more with this alternative. If you’d prefer to pick your own yarn for a calendar or to update your stash, Love Knitting also has an outlet section, which you can still use the 15% off code on.

Big thanks to jgolding for the original spot!

  • Thanks OP. Can anyone spring in with whether this is actually a good deal? I know next to nothing about knitting but looking for a gift for a knitting friend.

From the price of full-size yarns on the same website though, this seems very expensive, even at the 'bargain' price!

    Thanks for any help! :)

It might be useful for someone who knits small items like toys, but I would have no use for this whatsoever. I don't think that £27 for 24 oddments of yarn is a good deal.
