Matches - or Other Ignition Things

I usually buy matches from the supermarket as the difference between them vs those from Wilkos or somewhere else will be next to none.

Does anyone have any other ideas of something that I potentially could use instead of matches to light fires?

Refillable lighter?
Flint and steel?
Make a hand drill?
Depends how Bear Grylls you want to get.

Last time we were lighting fires, each base not only had kindling & a fire bucket, etc but different firestarting tools.
We had:
a ferro rod,
flint & steel
disposable or refillable lighter (can be cig or kitchen length)
waterproof matches (YMMV...)
a lens
a battery (& wire wool and an Explorer Scout to ensure folk stayed careful!)

We also had a few packets of chemicals (which as a virtuous scout I am not going to spell out on a public forum)

Most of us leaders have refillable lighters tucked into our cars or every day carry gear.
