G24 first appeal

SazzaLB
SazzaLB Posts: 4 Newbie
Hello

I've read through the various advice on the Newbies thread and on the 'Fight Unfair Private Parking Tickets' section of MSE and I'm confused as to which first appeal letter to send to G24.

The one titled 'The no nonsense approach – tell em you won't pay' or the one from the Newbies thread by salmosalaris starting 'Dear {name of IPC member, only IPC members for this version!!!}...'

Basically my situation is – I parked longer than 3 hours, I didn't feel the signage was clear and I also spent a lot of money that day in various stores. I tried to approach one of the stores with no luck and tried to write to who I thought was the landowner but that was incorrect so I thought I may as well send an appeal off.

Thanks

use the IPC one in post #1 of the NEWBIES sticky thread written by coupon mad and taken from a salmosalaris post

    IGNORE the official MSE templates

expect G24 to refuse your appeal

IGNORE the IAS for later appeals, a kangaroo court

edit post #1 to remove who did what

if it mentions somebody who was driving , say THE DRIVER , or AN OCCUPANT OF THE VEHICLE , no "me , myself , or I"

and yes , find the landholder and complain and demand a cancellation, the NEWBIES sticky thread tells people to ALWAYS COMPLAIN to the landholder

Forget it. Sadly that advice is badly out of date. The NEWBIES thread is up to date.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:

  • Thank you, that's great help.

you still have not edited post #1 like you were told to do earlier

if you cannot write things correctly at this stage you will struggle later on with the complicated stuff
  • Sorry Redx is that a note to me? I'm sorry I don't understand what you're asking me to do, I'm new to using forums and if I've done something wrong please explain in more detail?

go to your first post at the top of this thread

clieck on EDIT and advanced edit , blue roundels at the bottom of the post , the left one is edit

then EDIT your post to remove personal details and anything that mentions who did what ( 7 billion people could potentially read what you write , this is a public forum , not a private soundproof room )

    so like

THE DRIVER parked for 3 hours

assume you are telling a story about what happended to a friend of a friend ( never use these words if you can help it , "me , myself , or I" )

isnt it obvious that people like G24 ( sc@mmer ex clampers ) read public forums and can take screenshots to be used as "evidence" in court later ?
  • Ok fair enough, I didn't realise I'd included the name of the site etc and I didn't realise that's what you meant from your first message, as I say I'm new to this I wasn't being ignorant!

I had just logged back on to thank you as the appeal was successful and the case has been dropped.

    excellent news , well done

now please edit post #1 so it removes the who did what details (change to the driver blah blah) , so that you learn from this experience and become more forum savvy

that way , the next time it happens you will be more wary of what is written

again , well done on the cancellation

Wow, in the space of the 3 days since you first asked how to deal with this, the case has been dropped?

Did G24 drop it, or did a retailer get involved?

    Good result, whatever.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
