Hi,
I'm a long term lurker, but this is my first post. I'm currently on a DMP with Payplan. Have 3 years left. I've had 2 letters today from the same creditor. Moorgate to say my 2 debts with them have veeen sold to IDEM servicing. I don't have a problem with this as I've been on my DMP for 8 years with no problems.
However IDEM have said that they will be reporting this in my credit file. Now I'm worried I will have the defaults back. I no longer have any defaults as they all dropped off last year.
Can this new company put anything on my credit report? If they try to put a new default on the system can I challenge it. Just before each default was due to drop off I took a screen shot from Noddle to show all the dates etc.
What is likely to happen ? My credit rating has just stated to improve and now I'm worrried I'll be back at square one :-(
Any advice please ? ..
Thanks

My understanding is that the default start date is the time it was applied to the original creditor, so the reporting of it shouldn't be a problem. Unless anyone knows differently.0

Thanks for the response :-) . The original default dates were in 2009, so thankfully no longer on my report. If they put something on my report with the default date in 2009.. can I immediately get it removed ?
Or will they be sneaky and put an entry with an an arrangement to pay. But no default date ???0 -
There should not be anything on your credit file relating to this debt.
Once a default is expired, it cannot come back again.
If something does appear, complain to the creditor, the credit reference agency's, and the ICO.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Keep an eye on what they report, When IDEM took over from Moorgate from me the old record was completely wiped and they reported as OK each month, no default and no AR, when I was meeting the pre agreed arrangement so was actually a good thing a lovely green marker each month which has gone someway toward me rebuliding0
