Email Fine!

Hi,

Just wondering if anybody here has had an email from UKPC trying to charge £90 for apparently parking on private land. My instinct is to put this one down as a total scam, but having read some of the advice on the forum....?

I've not had a ticket on my car or anything through the post - just this email. In fact they've not put where I (allegedly) parked, what rule I have (allegedly) contravened or even my number plate. I've been to the 'official' UKPC website, but I am loathe to give them any 'real' details just to view a picture of the alleged offence - assuming it is in fact them that sent the email.

What does everybody here think? Scam or Total Scam, or.....

Many thanks in advance

total sc@m and well documented on the "tinternet" , possibly on the ACTION FRAUD website ?
  • Super-duper double scam.

    I've had one myself.

Best thing to do is to interrogate the email and check out the email address it has come from carefully.

if you really want to amuse yourself, contact UKPC and ask if they have an address for reporting phishing attempts using their company information...

I have had some emails saying i have got parking fines recently however not once do they quote the vehicle reg or the location and the fact it is email instead of post is a giveaway as dvlc would only ever release registered keepers POSTAL address. Also I have never owned a car in my life.

    Someone can't spell...dumdumdum

You could send it to Action Fraud - or maybe forward it to 'appealmoreinfo@ukparkingcontrol.com' (real UKPC) and ask them to explain it. May as well make UKPC deal with it, after all they are happy to waste consumers' time and money.

I think everyone who gets one of these emails should send it to UKPC just in case it is a real one.
