PPI Claim & a default loan

I've posted this in the PPI section but I think I may have confused everybody with the facts so I wanted to ask here as well.
However the dept at Santander dealing with the loan have already said that the amount outstanding is lower than that on the PPI offer letter (due to another payment having been received) and in this circumstance I would have to phone up and 'reclaim' the overpayment.
To add to the situation, the figure that Santander & the DCA say is outstanding differs by a month's payment, so potentially I would have to reclaim 2 months worth of overpayments.
So to summarise
Amount on PPI offer letter - X
Amount owed (according to Santander) : X - £100
Amount owed (according to DCA) : X - £200 (this figure I agree is o/s according to my records)
Has anyone been in this situation and it worked out OK - did you have any grief in reclaiming the overpayments? I'm a little sceptical as to whether I would get the overpayment back without a major fight lol!
As if that wasn't enough my monthly payment is due in two days time and have been advised to tell the DCA that no payment will be made as the debt is being settled by the PPI claim ....Has anyone had grief from their DCA in these circumstances?
- Had a loan with Santander which I defaulted on years ago and it eventually went to a DCA. I'm paying £100 per month to clear this debt.
- Started a PPI claim and Santander agreed to settle to the claim.
- The compensation payment is to be in two parts - a sum is to go towards clearing the remaining debt and the remainder will be paid in cash to me.

It depends if the DCA has bought the debt outright or is acting as a collections agent for Santander.
If they're only acting, Sanrtander will take the debt back, do your payment owing and then you just claim the rest.
Although usually, they will just send you a cheque for the remaining without the need to claim it back.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
