I once offered advice on an electrical issue someone had.
I was questioned as to why I thought I was right so I said I was a qualified electrician and train others to become electricians, simply to show I wasn't just guessing.
So I received comments basically saying I was being big headed etc.

Because of this, MSE forums is not a legitimate source of legal advice or information in general.
It was never a source of legal advice - and nor should it be.
When posting on any forum, you have to sift through the replies and weed out the dolts and look for the constructive, reasoned answers.
But yes, there are some people who you either think "why do they bother posting?" or post something that is incredibly wide of the mark...0
