I'll health ear!y retirement

Options
Hi. I am presently on long term sickness with anxiety disorder stress and depression. I keep transferring to different sectors of the NHS where I have worked as a nurse for 37 years, and increasingly ending up off sick with this condition.
Am I able to retire on the grounds of I'll health? I can retire from age 55, and I will reach this age in may.
How will this affect my pension what I could have claimed if I left in may?
Would never be able to work again if I am well enough in the future or not?
Would appreciate any advice on this please. Thank you.

  • If you retire on ill health xome Occupational Schemes will add 50% or your expected future service to normal retirement age onto what you have earned already. There will still be an actuarial reduction due to the extra amount of possible years they could be paying out for. Look online for your scheme booklets if you haven't already got some of these already.
