    Wow. I hate it when people come to work when they are sick. They are then implying that their job is more important than everyone else's and it doesn't matter if they spread their disease forcing other people to take time off.

    I rarely compromise on this and send any of my employees home who are sick. I would never reward anyone for coming in when they shouldn't.

    They say it will save £320,000 - can't see that they'll save anything from cutting my annual leave, but I suppose in other jobs, cover has to be brought in?

    IF they save that, and I will lay bets they don't, that amount is absolutely negligible in a council budget. Even these days, it is pocket fluff. I would lay bets that stopping buying pens and telling employees to bring their own pen to work would save more! If you have ever been part of a council's budgeting process you would know how insignificant that amount of money is - and how much gets spent on stationary!
