When will my default drop off my report?

Hello
I have a debt from EE that I am continuing to pay off that went into default on 12/02/2012. I will be satisfying my account for final payment next week, so when will it be removed from my credit report? Is it six years from the default or the date of when the final payment of the debt has been settled?
Once the default has vanished, I'm guessing my credit ''score'' will improve?
Thank you

6 years from default.0

Your 'score', for what it's worth, may improve sooner as a settled default should score better than an unsatisfied one.0
