Paying off Car PCP

Hi everyone,
I would like to pay off my Car PCP and keep the car for quite a few years. I'm sure I've read on the forum somewhere that to save early settlement interest/fees it's best to leave a little of it owing, maybe one or two monthly payments.
I may have got this wrong I'm not sure, can anyone advise please?
Many thanks in advance of any help.
