Getting a job at Barclays with CCJ

So my boyfriend got a job at Barclays, India. He was in UK 5 years ago for his masters. He completed his masters and came back to India. He resigned from his previous company when he got the offer letter from Barclays. They gave him the joining date and now when they did his background check they found that some outstanding is there on his name and address of UK which even he is not aware of. He did not receive any papers or anything at all. They asked him that why he did not tell them about this so he said because even he was not aware about the same. Now they forwaded his reply to the authority or management who decides all this and he is awaiting the reply. Can anyone tell me what will happen now? Will he get the job or not? Pls help.

That is down to the employer - nobody can tell you if they will get the job or not. You have to wait for their decision.

He probably wouldn't get the job in the UK, but I doubt whether anyone will know what rules Barclays India, or the Indian financial authorities, have in place.

If he didn't know anything about the CCJ, especially if it was issued after he left the UK, that sounds like a reasonable explanation. Good luck to him.

It may be worth looking at his credit record (you can do it for free on ClearScore) and trying to contact the court where the CCJ was issued. This might give him an idea what the CCJ is about.

Mind you, if the CCJ is 5 years old, it should fall off his credit report in a year's time anyway (they only go on for 6 years).

But can u pls tell me that how to check his ccj only with his name. I don't have his address and can't ask him also.

He can access his credit report on clearscore or noodle for free, or I believe can get a statutory report on Experian for £2 (don't sign up for their more expensive monthly service).

In order to access his credit report my understanding is that he will need to verify his identity by providing his UK address, as well as various other security details. I don't think you can do it with just his name.

Thank u again. Lets see. I m just hoping for the best. The company said they need some time to verify. They will let him know. Don't know when will they reply.
