MP 3 Player

My son does a bit of running and I am looking to buy him an MP3 player for Christmas which he can use when out doing long runs. It will be used mostly to transfer music from cds. I would also like it to have a radio but not interested in camera, video etc.


Can anyone recommend a decent player at a reasonable price.

Apple iPod shuffle is probably a good choice for a small player for running. But there are cheaper options.

Does he not already have a phone that can play MP3s though?

A cheap standalone MP3 player can be useful anywhere/anywhen your phone could get damaged.

There are loads of MP3s on eBay. I've had a few different ones in the past, and the rule is generally that the sound quality from the device is very good, but the headphones they come with are very poor.

You can get something reasonable from a UK seller starting at about £10, if that's the kind of price range you had in mind. You'd need to be spending that much again (or more) to get some decent headphones, though.

best little player i have used.

I still have one bought 8years ago, still going strong.

I'd also recommend any of the Sansa Clip players. I've had a couple- currently the Clip Jam, and they're good and simple.
