Hi
New to to the forum and spent ages looking at various posts which gave me loads of info.
Myself and my partner plan to start looking for our first house early next year. I have a couple of worries, he lives at home, never had or needed credit. I've had credit in the past by everything is paid and neither lives in an overdraft. Oh I have a mobile contract.
Basically we have more or less a 50% deposit, will this help sway the fact he has no credit history?
Also I'm concerned with it being Christmas soon how much they analyse statements as December will be Christmas spending month: not excessive but more than usual. Won't be using credit or overdrafts. we both have money saved for gifts. Oh and we've no dependants and in mid 30s.
Thanks guys in advance!

I completely agree with amn. Most people have the odd late payments and a 5-15% deposit and they are able to get mortgages at normal rates so you have nothing to worry about by the looks of it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I was a little worried on the no credit history thing. But am hoping the deposit will help that!
Plus the affordability is more than fine.
After reading posts it seems that not all mortgage companies are as strict as I thought
Thanks for the replies0 -
Hi Laura, I lived at home and had zero credit history with the exception of 2 years car insurance payments and got a mortgage (alone) without any real hiccups. I wouldn't worry too much. Your deposit will definitely swing in your favour too, I only had 5%0
