Started my DMP 2 1/2 years ago and opened a basic no overdraft Co Op Cashminder account.
I note that the Co Op has a current account with an optional overdraft, it mentions credit checks but would I be okay to apply for this if I stated I didnt want the overdraft, although my rating is low would the fact I have been a customer for 2 and half years and run my account properly hold any weight? The convenience aspect of this account would be a contactless card which you don't get with cashminder plus the Co op rewards programme which you also don't get with Cashminder.

Hi
If the bank let you open the new account I wouldn’t have thought there would be any issue changing, as long as you cancel the overdraft. Generally while in a DMP you can’t take out more credit, which you would risk if you had an overdraft facility. You could check your DMP agreement or just ask your provider to make sure.
