I have sent a request to CapQuest usingthe template letter for the cca for an outstanding debt on an account with the Alliance & Leicester that I was unaware of.
Today I have received a reply in which they state:
" We can confirm that as CapQuest Debt Recovery has not purchased this account from Alliance & Leicester plc, there is no deed of assignment available.
Please note that we have requested you copy agreement and statements fromour client and will forward these to you as soon as they have been received into our office"
Can someone advise me as to what to do next?
Does the 12+2 days still stand if they have not purchased the debt?
I don't want to get my dealings with them wrong.

I've been reading previous posts with regard to deeds of assignments.
Is it true that if the DCA has no deed of assignment then they can't request payment of the debt?
If that is the case, then presumably CapQuest are in the wrong writing to me, aren't they?
