Help! HBOS kicking off again! RANT!

Hi all,

I am getting very stressed as it all seems to be kicking off again! We have been on a DMP with CCCS since May 2006, and at our annual review did not have any extra money available so have continued with the same payments.

Today we received a letter from HBOS saying that our payment arrangement has now expired and they hope we are in a position to revert back to normal monthly payments (I wish!!).......'unless we agree otherwise we will return your account to normal payments and full interest 10 days from the date of this letter' etc etc. Sounds like they are being reasonable, ha! my husband phoned and was spoken to very rudely and aggressively and told that it was 'company policy' to revert back to normal payments after 12 months. Hubby said we aren't in a position to up the payments and was told basically that interest will now be added and it will be (eventually) passed on to a DCA.

I am so stressed about this....we had harrassing calls from Halifax last year and I thought everything was settled.... I guess I am worrying that once the process starts up again, the phonecalls will start again. Last year this harrassment and intimidation spiralled me into depression and severe anxiety attacks, I can't bear the thought of having to deal with them again.

I doubt there is any advice anyone can give me, I just wanted to rant a little!

Rant over!!

Hi Mojo, we are in a very similar situation, nearly word for word, our DMP with CCCS started last June time, I was on antidepressents because of the harrassment at the begining, it all settled down and I felt a lot better, even proud that we had started to go in the right direction. We too have been harrassed after a year, our payments went up slightly but even so, Northern Rock are taking us to Court and my husband got an identical letter to yours by the sounds of it from HBOS, simply not accepting difficulty after a year. Mentally, I am also back where I was a year ago, seriously considering walking away from everything, I'm tired of fighting for every little thing, I have an appointment to see my GP again, but the earliest I could get was 1 October (apt made 2 weeks ago!) I doubt you will get calls from Halifax, if you do just don't give them your security answers so you don't have to speak to them, ask them to put everything in writing. If they do go to a Debt Collection Agency, then sobeit, it might even be better for you. Hope it helps to know that you are not alone. I get the feeling that DMP are not now accepted by the Creditors as they once used to be, I certainly can't go through this every year..

Get in touch with CCCS and tell them, and send the HBOS letter to them so they can deal with it.

Also, see your GP & ask for a letter detailing the problems the harassment has caused previously & send that to HBOS (maybe to the head of Cust Services, copied to Chief Exec?). Only problem is you may have to pay for this letter....
