Britannia Parking PCN- Little Clarification Please

Hi all,

Please bare with me guys I have read the newbies thread but some of it doesn't seem to apply to me so thought I would make this.

Friday just gone I parked in a car park (not a shop or council one) just looked to be a low rent private car park used to walk into the town center. I paid for 6 hours but for personal reasons that I could not help I was late back to the car by two hours and came back to a window screen PCN. I still posses the ticket with 6 hours on if that helps.

Can anyone just confirm that PCNs can no longer just be ignored fully and I have to take action? I had one a year ago that I completely ignored including the joke debt recovery ones.

Again just a clarification that I should now wait until I get a postal letter about the PCN before making any contact with Britannia Parking?

Out of curiosity, if a PCN did go all the way to court and I lost what would be the costs incured? would it be thousands?

Thanks in advance!

any invoice can be issued and a court case issued within 6 years in england and wales (5 in scotland) , so yes they may all be valid , but only a judge can decide , and NO , they should not be IGNORED

until 6 years is up, the previous one may well be "live" and could yet go to court, so 12 months is nothing compared to the 72 months before it is statute barred

BRITPARK are BPA members so you should be appealing this around day 25 , as keeper, as detailed in that NEWBIES sticky thread

for one ticket the court is limited so a typical figure would be say £175 , possibly as much as £250 if you failed to defend it properly and could even be £0 or £10 , or you might win and claim back £90 or so

    certainly not "thousands"
  • From what I read I needed to wait for the NTK or is that not the case? Not quite sure why I am waiting till day 25 to appeal if I am not waiting till the NTK. Cant I appeal now?

    Hope that makes sense?

read this https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822 , you send the appeal on that date for a reason , so that they forget the NTK

please read above , a template is there for the company brittania is BPA so you send the BLUE template at the suggested time

CM explains the reasons why in that thread, so read it again and again until it sinks in why you wait until day 25 , dont be so impatient !!

act in haste , repent at leisure
