    No idea where they came from, but I've got two I've had for some years now.... they're as good as new. I'll have not paid more than the bare minimum for mine.

    Maybe you're just guilty of Possessions Abuse :)

    Another idea might be to try the scrubbie gloves which you can find for about a pound.
    Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

    I like to use scrunchies (or whatever they're called?) as they make the soap lather up, meaning I don't need to buy shaving foam.

    That's why I use them - a small dollop of shower gel is all I need to use so a bottle lasts ages.

    Found the Body Shop ones, £2 each! They had better be good :D .

    Another vote for the Bodyshops scrunchie, I usually get stocked up with them for Christmas when they have the promotions on, well worth it!

    Yes I saw that before, but I don't believe anything in the Sun newspaper. I've used scrunchies for all my adult life and it's never harmed me, never had any infections or anything. I also change them every so often and get rid of most of the water and soap before putting it back.

    Okay... Do you not believe anything in the peer-reviewed Journal of Clinical Microbiology?

    I can't find the article mentioned in the Sun, but here's an older on concerning loofahs. I imagine the arguments and evidence are fairly similar.

    They can't be any worse than flannels or sponges, and we were brought up being washed with sponges from babyhood.

    I always chuck mine into the washbasin when I'm finished, and give it a good rinse under the hot tap.
