How long does DMP take to start??

Hi
had a phone interview last week and during the call they advised only £77 pm to offer to all my creditors however they did say if I could increase my income to an extra £280pm I could go on a 5 yr plan and it would all be paid of,, this encouraged me to find a lodger (a friend who was looking) and will pay £300pm, I had rec'd all the forms with the £77 offer on but due to the change I thought I should phone them to advise before sending all the froms off to the creditors,
So when I phoned they rebooked another appointment for nxt thursday
Any advice on what happends after that and how long it all takes

oh and also as this is still all happening do I wait to be started on the DMP before reclaiming charges as I presume I will get more

** note I have had my wages paid into a totally diff bank account now**
