Question about holiday prizes

We are a family of four, and I've noticed that lots of holiday prizes are for two.
So, I've basically been ignoring these competitions. But, I was wondering, would they generally allow you to add on to the prize - so take two adult places and pay extra for the children?
I know they're all going to be different, but I've looked at the T&Cs for several, and it doesn't really give any indication one way or the other whether this would be possible or not.
Just wondered whether anyone had done this? And therefore whether it's worth me giving them a go (I can't tell you how much I'd love to win a holiday! I'm sure we all would!)

We're a family of 4 and I only enter the family competitions or for 2 if it's a short break cos I don't mind leaving the kids for a couple of nights.
I personally wouldn't want to risk winning a fantastic prize for 2 - and then for them to say that I couldn't bring the kids. That's not to say that some promoters won't be flexible. Some will be, some won't be. Not worth the risk in my opinion... but then I'm sure you'll get different opinions on this!0 -
People have added extra places but changes are not guaranteed, you don't know until it happens.0

Hi,
I won a holiday for two to Rome some time back and they allowed me to add on my daughter, for a small charge to cover the flight, nothing extra for the pick up or hotel though. I asked and it was easy.0 -
I enter all holidays comps I have three children aged 9,17,23 years. i think if I win i'll sort it out later lol.
last year I won a cruise for two which was a short notice one, I had two weeks notice so i took my 9 year old daughter. to be fair my husband could not get time off work but my boss was like go go (she was way to excited for me)
I would have preferred longer so I could go with husband but had a great time.0
