change to tenancy in common

Hi there,
Hopefully you guys can help out with a doubt my neighbours are having.
1) Their property is owned by themselves (father & daughter own the freehold house).
2) They have printed a Form A restriction form. (SEV) and are in the process of completing it as they want to change the joint ownership type from joints tenants to common tenants.
3) They wish to own the property equally 50% 50% as the other party wishes to leave his 50% ownership to somebody else (he has recently made a will).
My question is do they need to create a trust deed with their solicitor? If not, what supporting documents do they need to send along with the SEV application to state that they wish to change ownership to 50% 50%.
